Pigs

Domesticated pigs are called swine. The adult male swine are called boars and the females are called sows. Young swine are called piglets. The pig has a large head with a long snout, the snout is used to dig into the soil to find food. Pigs are intelligent and can be trained to perform numerous tasks. Recently, they have enjoyed a measure of popularity as house pets, particularly the dwarf breeds. Pigs are very clean animals. They keep their toilets far from their living or eating area. Even piglets only a few hours old will leave the nest to relieve themselves. Pigs constantly communicate with each other. They have a range of different oinks, grunts and squeals which have distinct meanings. They roll around in the mud to keep cool because they do not have sweat glands. Pigs have 4 toes on each foot but they only walk on 2.
