Monkeys

Groups of monkeys are known as a ‘troop’. There are currently 264 known monkey species. Some monkeys live on the ground, while others live in trees. Monkeys eat a variety of foods, such as fruit, insects, flowers, leaves and reptiles. Most monkeys have tails. Monkeys can grasp with both their fingers and their toes. Monkeys use vocalizations, facial expressions, and body movements to communicate. Grinning or pulling the lip is a sign of aggression in monkeys, along with yawning, head bobbing, and jerking the head and shoulders forward. Monkeys express affection and make peace with others by grooming each other. Don’t try to touch a monkey, they don’t like it and they are aggressive.
