Bears first appeared on the literary scene in the fairy tale 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' written by Robert Southey in 1834 The first teddy bear is believed to have been made in Germany in 1902 A Brooklyn shopkeeper, Morris Michtom sold the world's first 'Teddy's Bear' in his shop in November 1902 with permission from President Roosevelt, who had the nickname ‘Teddy,’ Michtom named the bears “Teddy bears." Teddy bears make great friends and whatever bear style you choose, just remember to love your ‘Teddy’ giving him lots of hugs and cuddles. Taking good care of your ‘Teddy Bear’ also means looking after it, as you want your ‘new friend’ to look good for a long time. If you ever have a bad day, talk to your teddy about it. They are great listeners. Loving and taking care of your teddy bear is ‘just awesome’. .
